On Jan. 8, 2019 John C. Russell was appointed as Greene County Commissioner, District 2, by Governor Mike Parson. He was confirmed by the Missouri State Senate in February.
Russell holds a degree in business administration from the University of Missouri and has extensive experience in business management, having launched and operated a local insurance business and been involved with a local manufacturing operation.
Russell also previously served as the Deputy Chief of Staff for former Missouri Governor Matt Blunt where he oversaw operations, as well as served as the liaison between the governor and the Department of Economic Development.
Currently, Russell serves as the board president-elect for the Breast Cancer Foundation of the Ozarks and is a member of the Springfield Area Chamber of Commerce. He and his wife reside in Eastern Greene County with their two children.
